SUPPRESS EC, Organic Certified Herbicide- SAN AGROW
Organic-approved contact herbicide for burndown of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses
OMRI Listed | EPA Reg. No. 51517-9 | SAN Agrow
SUPPRESS Herbicide EC is a non-selective, post-emergent contact herbicide formulated with caprylic and capric acids. It is a non-volatile, emulsifiable concentrate that provides fast burndown of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses in and around food and non-food crops, as well as non-agricultural and industrial sites. Because it acts on contact and does not translocate within the plant, it is best used on newly emerged weeds, ideally less than 6 inches tall. It is OMRI Listed for organic production and is an effective tool for integrated weed management programs.

Key Attributes
- Organic production. OMRI Listed. Always confirm acceptance with your organic certifier.
- Fast-acting contact burndown. Plant responses can usually be seen shortly after application.
- Non-systemic and non-volatile. The product does not translocate within the plant and does not volatilize.
- Broad weed spectrum. Controls annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses.
- Suited to perennial plantings. Labeled for use in and around perennial crops and for vegetation removal around and under permanent plantings, applied directly to the target weeds.
- Harvest flexibility. No pre-harvest interval, so it can be used up to and including the day of harvest. The restricted entry interval is 24 hours.
- Rainfast in 4 hours. Do not apply if rain is expected within 4 hours.
- Resistance management. Can be tank mixed with conventional herbicides, including glyphosate, glufosinate, and dicamba, to improve efficacy and help control resistant weeds, and can be rotated with conventional herbicides in an integrated program.
- Additional uses. Labeled for sucker control on woody trees, vines, and brambles, and as a desiccant or harvest aid in potatoes and other tubers.
Labeled Uses
- Food crops. Berries, brassicas, bulb vegetables, cereal grains, citrus, cucurbit vegetables, field crops, fruiting vegetables, herbs and spices, grapes, leafy greens, legumes, tree nuts, pome fruit, stone fruit, strawberries, root and tuber vegetables, tropical fruits, and miscellaneous crops such as artichokes, asparagus, avocados, olives, persimmons, and pomegranates. Do not apply to rice fields when flooded.
- Non-food crops and sites. Turf, flowers, bedding plants, ornamentals, Christmas trees, forest and landscape trees, nursery trees and shrubs, greenhouses and nurseries, fallow land, forages, pastures, and uncultivated land.
- Non-agricultural and industrial sites. Parks, golf courses, landscapes, interiorscapes, non-crop areas, right-of-ways, and around building structures. Do not apply to hardscapes such as buildings, roads, or patios.
Application Information
- Timing and weed size. Apply to newly emerged weeds, ideally less than 6 inches tall. Use the higher labeled concentration for weeds taller than 6 inches and the highest for hardened perennials. Repeat applications as required to maintain control and to control plants emerging from seed and underground parts.
- Coverage. Apply directly to the target weeds using adequate spray volume. Complete coverage is necessary for maximum burndown.
- Mixing. Shake well. Fill the tank halfway with water, add the product, then add the remaining water. Use continuous agitation until all spray solution has been applied, and use the solution within 4 hours of mixing.
- Water pH. If spray water is above pH 7, adjust it to pH 6 or below before adding the product, using an acidifier such as BioLink® Acidifier.
- Equipment. Apply with hand-held, boom, pressure, or hose-end sprayers. For broadcast applications, use hooded or shielded equipment and nozzles that produce large droplets to prevent drift onto the crop. Clean equipment, including o-rings, thoroughly after each use.
- Restrictions. Do not apply by aerial application or through any type of irrigation system. Ensure adequate ventilation when spraying in enclosed areas such as greenhouses.
- Weather and watering. Do not apply to weeds that are wet from dew, rain, or water. Do not water within 4 hours after application or apply if rain is expected within 4 hours.
- Compatibility. Conduct a jar test before mixing with other products, adding dry formulations first, then flowables, then emulsifiable concentrates. Do not tank mix with silicone-based surfactants, and non-ionic surfactants are not recommended. Follow the most restrictive labeling of any tank mix partner, and treat a small test plot when using a new combination for the first time.
- Sucker control. Use a directed spray on unwanted suckers before they become woody. Mature suckers require a higher concentration.
- Harvest aid. Apply when crops have stopped growing, at least 48 hours before harvest, and avoid drift to adjacent crops.
- Pollinators. Do not apply or allow drift to blooming crops or weeds while honey bees are actively foraging. Avoid early morning and late afternoon applications.
